Wedding Q + A

Why Hever Castle ?

Before Sarah's family moved to Guernsey, she lived just down the road. The Humes have lots of happy memories in the grounds of Hever and nearby Penhurst Place. Andy has always loved castles and forts, from the historical to those of fantasy - so soon after they met Sarah took Andy to Hever for a visit. And the rest .. is history! Sarah and Andy have enjoyed several happy weekends together at Hever since and we thought it would be the perfect backdrop to celebrate our wedding and share it with our favorite people.

Address for the Wedding ceremony and reception ?

Both the Wedding ceremony and the reception will take place within the Hever Castle and garden grounds on the Saturday. More details coming soon ...

Is this an Adults only wedding?

Yes! Although we love your babies and children, we regretfully cannot accommodate them at the venue due to restricted numbers.

Can I stay at Hever Castle?

Absolutely! There is Bed & Breakfast accommodation available for our wedding guests within the Castle for our wedding weekend. If you are interested in staying at the Castle please drop Andy or Sarah a line. For other options, see our "Places to Stay" page.

How can I RSVP?

Hopefully you've received an e-invite. You can RSVP electronically through this website. Don't forget to let us know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions!

Is this a weekend off runnng?

Have you met Andy?! We are happy to confirm that Kingdom Cafe, just down the road hosts a parkrun every Saturday at 9am. Andy would be delighted to be joined for parkrun by any of our guests, on his big day. For those wanting to opt for a more leisurely morning, but watch the activity - Kingdom Cafe comes highly rated with excellent coffee, pastries and snacks. This is very much an optional extra. We anticipate Sarah will stay back to guard the Castle.

What time will the wedding start on the Saturday?

Our guests staying off-site should arrive at Hever around 1.30pm. Our ceremony will start at 2.00pm.

Is there parking at Hever Castle?

Yes! There is a private car parking area available for all our guests to use free of charge. We have been informed that there is 1 Electric vehicle charging station available. Overnight parking is strictly not permitted by the venue for non-residential guests. For taxi numbers please see our "Travel to Hever" page.

Apart from parkrun, will there be additional events around the wedding?

Yes! We are at early stage of organising a welcome meet-up on the Friday evening for early arrivals. More details to follow. The main event of course is our wedding on the Saturday.

Is there a dress code for the Wedding?

Strict 16th Century Tudor court dress. Just joking. Andy has been talked out of this. Normal wedding attire please :)

Carriages (and regular taxi) collections at end of the night?

All our guests not staying at the castle, will need to depart by midnight. Due to the location of Hever Castle it is essential that all taxis and transportation is pre-booked. Please see our "Travel to Hever" page for some recommended companies.
